Living in Harmony with the Seasons:
Spring Yoga Series with Megan Hettich
Sunday, March 25th, 2018
1pm to 3pm
Ever Feel Like Spring is Coming and It is Stirring Up Emotions and Unconscious Changes Within?
With spring upon us, it’s a time when we can easily overlook all the changes that happen around us and within us. What if we noticed that change and embraced it? What would it feel like to stay in tune with the shifts in the seasons and take on our health from a more holistic, natural approach? In this workshop, we’ll discuss how to live a season-based lifestyle, nourishing our internal bodies to bring balance from the inside out. We’ll explore a yoga practice that supports the organs associated with spring that need more attention and energy this time of year.
In the first part of our workshop, we’ll discuss an overview of the seasons according to Traditional Chinese Medicine. We’ll take a deeper look at the Wood Element and it’s associations with the spring season. The color is green, the emotions are compassion and anger/frustration, and the organs are the liver and gall bladder. We’ll explore how these associations show up in your daily life and learn to shift and balance with Mother Nature.
In the second part of our workshop, we’ll get moving with a Hatha style yoga class, targeting the organs & meridians associated with spring. All levels of yogis welcome, as modifications will be offered throughout class. Prepare for postures that are detoxifying to the liver and gall bladder, to clear out stuck energy and built up toxins. You’ll leave this workshop with better self-awareness, as well as cleaner space in the body and mind to take advantage of all the benefits this spring season has to offer.
The 2-Hour Workshop: How it Breaks Down!
The workshop begins with an overview of Traditional Chinese Medicine followed by an in-depth look at the “Spring” season and how we can apply this ancient knowledge to our everyday life to create balance and harmony.
